DECEMBER 2008. Dave Chick reports on his recent trip to Switzerland where he sampled the delights of the new double-articulated trolleybuses in Zurich and Luzern. Brian Deans reveals details of an exhaustive enquiry into a Glasgow trolleybus experiment which began 50 years ago this month, featuring 10 single deck B.U.T. trolleybuses with Burlingham bodywork numbered TBS12 - TBS21. Dave Hall looks back at the fate of Reading's trolleybuses following the closure of the system in November 1968 whilst David Gourley reflects on the old and new Reading. SEPTEMBER 2008.
Bruce Lake reviews the Huddersfield Trolleybus Event that took place at
Sandtoft in July to mark the 40th anniversary of the closure of that
system. John Zebedee reports on the 2008 Sandtoft Gathering. Edmonton's
decision to abandon its trolleybus system in 2010 has caused much
controversy and a couple of BTS members have been drawn into the argument,
which is explained in this issue. There is also
a report on London's Bow Garage centenary in which LT Q1 trolleybus 1768
took part.

AUGUST 2008.
This issue is devoted to the passing away of Ian Little and John
Murphy, both well known transport enthusiasts from New Zealand. Peter
Rendall looks back at Ian's life whilst John
Zebedee recalls his encounters with Ian at his trolleybus museum at Foxton.
The centre pages contain a photo spread of the Trolley 21 event held at
the Black Country Museum in June. David Bowler reports on the end of the
small Swiss trolleybus system at Basel and there is news of a prototype
trolleybus built by SOR.

JULY
2008.
A special colour issue was produced this month to include a copy the BTS
commissioned memorial portrait in memory of our founder, Mike Dare, which
was unveiled at Sandtoft in May 2008. The portrait, of Mike
and Beryl Dare, as well as Reading Trolleybus 113, was painted by Maria
Teresa Molner (B.A. (Hons)), better known as our committee member Maria Harvey. Dave
Chick tells us all about the events at the BTS members weekend at Sandtoft
held over the 2008 Spring Bank Holiday. The centre pages include some
lovely colour photos of this event and also records the unveiling of
Sandtoft's memorial tribute to Mike. Philip Jenkinson recalls a time when the sight of a Huddersfield trolleybus meant
'we're nearly home'. Bruce Lake updates us on
the latest World News whilst Dave Lawrence
keeps us up to date with Museum & Preservation News.
